FAQ

  • Where does the set come from?

The set was developed by the Monk Qi Yun during the 20th century and was taught by him in Beijing to a very small group of students.

  • Is Da Bei Quan Tai Ji?

Sometimes referred to as Zen Tai Ji or Chan Tai Ji because of its connection to Buddhist temple life, Da Bei does not share the same set of principles as Tai Ji and is something altogether different.

  • Is Da Bei Quan a martial art or qi gong?

It is neither. It is simply a challenging physical cultivation set that allows you to connect to your movement without the added clutter of energetic principles or martial intention.
